Health information exchange – both the noun and the verb – can be successful when you combine innovative, evolving technology with a sense of community and trust among healthcare providers. Ohio’s CliniSync HIE, powered by Medicity, is a model of that success. Using a grassroots, regional strategy, the HIE has grown to include more than 6,000 primary care physicians, 141 hospitals, 820 practices, 290 long-term, post-acute care facilities, and 13,200 direct email addresses. Since its inception, Ohio providers have received over $1 billion in Meaningful Use incentive payments.
In this webinar, Brian Ahier, Director of Standards and Government Affairs for Medicity, provides a short overview of the changing health care landscape and the role of the HIE in helping organizations move toward value-based care models. He touches on the latest on Meaningful Use 3 and FHIR. From there, Dan Paoletti, CEO of Ohio Health Information Partnership, delves into the CliniSync story, providing an in-depth analysis of the organization’s journey to success. Paoletti also provides best practices and other take aways that attendees can apply to their own organizations
